- Canned Heat is a blues-rock/boogie band that formed in Los Angeles in 1965.
- Since the early '70s numerous personnel changes have occurred in the five decades of the band's existence.
- Canned Heat's popularity has endured in some European countries and Australia.
- In July 2007, a documentary, Boogie with Canned Heat: The Canned Heat Story, was released, as was music historian Rebecca Davis Winters' biography of Alan Wilson, "Blind Owl Blues".
- Former bassist Antonio De La Barreda died of a heart attack on February 19, 2009.
