Van Halen is a hard rock band formed in Pasadena, California in 1972.
As of 2007 Van Halen has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide and have had the most number one hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
The band was Inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12, 2007.
Van Halen's song "Hot for Teacher" is included in the video game Guitar Hero World Tour.

Classic Van Halen pre Sammy is best, I think. Especially Running with the Devil, Foreplay, Jamie's Crying, You Really Got Me....and of course, Ice Cream Man. :) One so close to my heart.... :)

a couple of little known Van halen Facts: 1. When starting out as kids Alex actually took to the guitar first and Eddie on drums. the later switched and the rest is history. 2. At there upstart they found a producer by the name of Gene Simmons (KISS), loved the sound but wanted to change the name of the band to Daddy Long Legs and the album "Van Halen" was to have a praying mantis with a top hat on the cover. 3. At their HOF induction the only two members that attended were Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, at the time Eddie was still in rehab and both Alex and Diamond Dave said if Eddie isn't there I wont be. 4. Van Halen Tours still with Eddie's son Wolfgang "Wolfie" whom he named his new line of guitars after.

Van Halen.....Lee Roth Vs. Sammy.....It's a Draw!!!....These guys R Supertalented and Eddie sets the stage for them to be so....They R Creative...Original...Mind blowing Rock Gods....Love Them...........
