Smashing Pumpkins
- The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band that formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1988.
- Corgan is a notorious perfectionist. He played all of the instruments on Siamese Dream himself, although his band still received full credit.
- The band appeared in a season 7 episode of The Simpsons called "Homerpalooza." After being shot in the stomach with a cannon, Homer gets a spot on the festival and befriends the band.
- Despite all the problems in its recording, Siamese Dream debuted at number ten on the Billboard charts, and sold over four million copies in the U.S. alone.
- Praised by Time as "the group's most ambitious and accomplished work yet", Mellon Collie debuted at number one on the Billboard charts in October 1995.
- The band was nominated for several MTV Video Music Awards during the 1990s. In 1996, the group won seven VMAs total for the "1979" and "Tonight, Tonight" videos, including the top award, Video of the Year, for "Tonight, Tonight".
- Iha and D'Arcy own their own record label, Scratchie Records.
