Annie Decatur Danielewski (born March 23, 1968), professionally known as Poe, is a American singer and songwriter.
Her parents divorced when she was 16. Instead of living with either of them, she moved to New York City on her own.
Took the name because she loves the poet Edgar Allen Poe.
Poe was signed to Atlantic Records from 1995-2001. Poe is currently on her label RePoezessed Records.
She eventually began pursuing her undergraduate studies at Princeton University where she organized her first band. Her first album, Hello, was released in 1995. Her debut single, "Angry Johnny", got much radio and MTV airplay.
