The Rock music genre is slipping, and Pop music has come to take it’s place.
Thanks to artists such as Lady Gaga and Adele, the Pop Music genre has surpassed the Rock Music genre for sales in 2011. In 2011 alone, Lady Gaga brought in an astounding $90 million in earnings, and Adele has covered the billboards with hit albums 21 at #1 and 19 at #4. Big hitting album sales such as this have pushed Pop music forward in the charts covering one third of the market (33.6%), up almost 3% from 2010 performance.
