The Game to Drop R.E.D. after Dr. Dre’s Drops His New Album

dr dre The Game to Drop R.E.D. after Dr. Dres Drops His New AlbumThese days, the Game is sporting the red color as a promo tool for his upcoming R.E.D. Album. On his upcoming song Red Nation, Lil Wayne, who has a liking for the color red, brought  the hook. MTV News hooked up with the Game on the set of his video shoot, and the Compton- born MC revealed how he got Weezy involved on this project.

“I called Wayne and I was like, ‘Yo I need you to kill this hook.’ He was like, ‘No problem,’ and he did his thing for me,” Game recalled.

The Game likes to record his guest artists’ material in the studios himself in his own presence, rather than receiving pre-recorded content through the internet or mail. However, he made an exemption for the Young Money boss. He explained that since Wayne was on the road for his ‘I Am Still Music’ tour and therefore it wasn’t feasible for him to meet the Game in his studio. Because both of them have worked together under one roof before he knew Wayne’s working style and was fully confident that the delivered material will be according to his liking.

snoop warren nate1 300x160 Nate Dogg Tribute at the Los Angeles DUB Car ShowPassing away of rapper Nate Dogg is still fresh in the minds of his fans, and the air at the 2011 DUB car show and concert held at Los Angeles Convention Center on March 27th. Many still in grief as the late rapper’s colleagues and fans turned up in bunches to catch a glimpse of the hottest wheels in town. The exhibition was staged a day after Nate was laid to rest, and even though it wasn’t a memorial for the former Death Row musician, it eventually turned out to be an event where his music was celebrated yet again when his long-time pal DJ Quik decided to play Nate-only music. The DJ/producer also introduced Nate’s song Nigel to the listeners and he rapped his father’s highly acclaimed record ‘Regulate’.

Wale the next Kayne West? Rick Ross says yes.

wale musician Wale the next Kayne West? Rick Ross says yes.Rick Ross must have been disappointed after not being able to sign 2010’s breakout MC Wiz Khalifa, who rejected Ross-owned Maybach Music Group’s advances in favor of Atlantic Records. But as things turned out, the Miami MC isn’t complaining, after seeing his own prodigy ‘Wale’ shine.

Ross believes Wale’s potential is of the same level as of Kanye West and Yeezy, Wale also has an unorthodox style that could eventually make him as big of a star as West. In an interview with MTV, Ross boldly predicted that Wale is destined to emulate Kanye’s success one day.

Ross, who recently signed both Wale and Meek Mill, said that both his new acquisitions may be a little different than what is being heard in the music industry at the moment, however both appear to feel very comfortable in their enviroment.

The-Dream: Getting His Act Together

Play The-Dream’s Duet with Kim Kardashian On “Turn It Up”

Life is full of ups and downs, and who knows this better than Terius Youngdell Nash, better known as ‘The-Dream’ in the music industry. Just a year ago, the artist was ready to end his musical career and even his life, as he later admitted to having suicidal thoughts. This, coming from an artist who has powered hit songs for artists as big as Mariah Carey and Rihanna, seems disturbing. page go The Dream: Getting His Act Together Continue reading The-Dream: Getting His Act Together »

Cover Songs That Beat the Originals

happy mondays Cover Songs That Beat the OriginalsMusic is an incredible art form…can you imagine how monotonous life would be without it? What would a graduation be without “Pomp and Circumstance”? What about a wedding without the “Wedding March”? Songs have impact; this impact often inspires other artists to make their own version of popular songs from the past. Sometimes, the audience gives a negative review of the revision—inspired, no doubt by some fond memory they have of the original. At other times, the cover version makes much bigger waves than the original; sometimes  to the point that everyone forgets who initially sang it.  With all of that in mind, we have compiled a short list of covers that ended up better than the originals. page go Cover Songs That Beat the Originals Continue reading Cover Songs That Beat the Originals »
