Music Powered Medical Devices Rap Music Powers New Medical DevicesResearchers at Purdue University have developed a new type of implantable pressure sensor, which is powered by acoustic vibrations such as those that come from music,and particularly rap music, due to it’s heavy driving bass beats.

In hopes of treating people affected by aneurisms, incontinence due to paralysis, researchers at the Purdue University have developed a new medical sensor in the form of a vibrating cantilever which is activated by frequencies in the range of 200-500 hertz. Frequencies in this range cause the cantilever to vibrate, creating energy which is then stored in a capacitor for later use.

Rihanna Grammys Rihanna & Coldplay Rock Princess of China Live at the Grammys Rihanna announced that she and Coldplay, who recently collaborated on “Princess of China” from ColdPlay’s new Mylo Xyloto album, would be playing together on stage during this years annual Grammy Awards. This year marks the e 54th annual Grammy Awards, scheduled for Februrary 12th, and will mark the first time Rihanna and Coldplay perform together live.

Coachella Music Festival Mini Coachella Music Festival Lineup AnnouncedLooks like The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (also known as Coachella or the Coachella Festival) is going big this year. If the usual multi-day event wasn’t enough for fans, Coachella 2012 will span two weekends (13-15) and (20-22) with a myriad of musicians (120+) scheduled to play at the event. Coachella Festival passes go on sale this Friday, January 13th at 10am PST and cost $285 each.

The Coachella festival, originally started in 1999, is traditionally held during the third or fourth weekend at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Claifornia. As a businessman, Diddy has made his millions off music, TV, film, clothing and fragrances. So what’s this multi-talented, jack of all trades have in store next?

In Diddy’s latest Ciroe vodka ad, he’s set the theme to a classic Sinatra tune,”Luck Be a Lady”. Combs explains how the idea came about.

“The spot that put Ciroc on the map was the first partnership we did with the Sinatra estate four years ago. I did a huge out-of-the-box buy on CNN, and I knew there would be a lot of traffic because Obama was running for president. And sales went through the roof. It was one of the most impactful ad campaigns in the spirit’s history. Also, for years, people have called me the black Sinatra. So that’s where the whole collaboration came from.”

On Friday December 2nd, Billboards held their 7th annual Billboard Women in Music event at Capitale in New York. Stars Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj were both honored in the event with Taylor Swift awarded “Woman of the Year” and Nicki Minaj awarded “Rising Star”.

Speaking to the Mixtape Daily, the up-and-coming MC said that Kanye West is their ‘Captain Planet’ as he possesses all the individual qualities that are the specialties of his protégés.

You all know Captain Planet and his band of merry tree huggers out to save the planet from pollution. Prynce described himself as heart, Big Sean as water, Teyana Taylor as Wind, Pusha T as fire, and saved the best character for their leader and mentor Kanye, who he thinks is a combination of special talents.
