Starting on April 17th, jazz keyboardist and composer, Yanni (Yiannis Hrysomallis) will be commencing a fourth month tour titled “An Evening with Yanni” visiting a variety of states and provinces within the United States and Canada.
The tour “An Evening with Yanni” will include Yanni’s music from his most recent album Truth of Touch, released in 2011, which includes top hits “Truth of Touch”, “Guilty Pleasure” and “O Luce Che Brilla Nell’oscurità”.
Born in Greece in 1954, Yanni grew up with a passion for swimming and listening to music. By the age of six he was reproducing music he heard on the radio on his family’s piano. Today as a multi-Grammy nominated artist with almost twenty albums, who’s also created the second best-selling music video of all time “Yanni Live at the Acropolis”, it might come as no surprise his most recent album, “Truth of Touch” was the top-selling New Age album of 2011.
Yanni explains how “Truth of Touch”, Yanni’s 19th release, came to fruition. “I wasn’t even trying to make an album,” Yanni recalls. “I just felt like writing music. I happened to be at a point where I wasn’t stressed out about going on tour or having to deliver an album for anyone. It was just a six-month period where every night I walked into my studio and I had fun. It was effortless. I felt the music. It just showed itself to me. It was probably the best way to do an album.”
