Britney Spears is the headline-making personality at events where she is not even the main guest or even performing. It’s this media-attracting power of hers that forced KIIS FM to hand her the responsibility of co-hosting their yearly Wango Tango along with the famed A-list anchorperson Ryan Seacrest. The Los Angeles-based radio station organized the event yesterday night (May 14) at the city’s famous Staples Center.
The guests included a blend of hip hop and pop artists such as, Ke$ha, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Selena Gomez, “Glee” ‘s Matthew Morrison, Lupe Fiasco, T-Pain, Jason Derülo, Far East Movement, New Boyz, Cobra Starship and new arrival on the music scene Cody Simpson.
Everything was cool until Britney announced her arrival, which resulted in a media-frenzy, something that so often happens when the pop diva poses in front of the cameras. Her pink dress and wide smile stole the show from the very beginning and she waited for the photographers to snap as many pictures of her as they could in a few seconds, before marching gracefully towards her peers. This was Brit’s second media outing this week, after she hosted a celebrity dinner at her Beverly Hills home for the benefit of St. Bernard Project.
Ke$ha, who wrote a song for Britney’s latest album Femme Fatale, said that another joint project between the two would be possible only if she is allowed to do one thing. “That would have to include me finding her and attacking her. I’m planning on pouncing her,” the Tik Tok-singer joked.
While it was just wishful thinking from Ke$ha, she was more firm about the use of her famous glitter gun. She was once again wearing a lot of glitter on face and she even preached its use by passing some valuable information to her fans regarding its usage. She warned, “Do not spray yourself in the face with it. Do spray everybody else with it. That’s pretty much it.”
Jonas Brothers’ member Joe Jonas, who has reportedly been recording his first solo album, found the break away from the studios a welcome opportunity to mingle with his music peer. He later told MTV, “I didn’t see Britney backstage, just said ‘hello’ to a couple of my friends. Backstage is always [full of] people, especially having it at the Staples Center this time, I think compared to all the way out in the desert, it changes everything.”
Far East Movement, who are local LA-natives, also seemed happy to be at the music fest. Kev Nish revealed that they used to hand out their free CDs just a few blocks away from the Staples Center and to be a part of such a star-studded event was a great occasion for them.Britney Spears, jennifer lopez, Ke$ha, Ne-Yo, Pitbull, Selena Gomez, Wango Tango
