- Trent was given a publishing deal and a record deal by Kimber Kay Music just after he had quit college. However, not long after Trent had signed contracts with them, they went bankrupt.
- In Trent's junior year of high school, he competed on the show You Can Be a Star . He ended up losing in the finals by two-tenths of a point.
- Trent had started out by playing rock music, but once he was in high school he decided to switch to country music.
- Trent had the skills to possibly be a successful basketball player like his father, but he chose to pursue music instead.
- Trents's father played basketball for both the University of Missouri and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
